Christian BERNHOFER

Christian Bernhofer received his PhD in meteorology and botany from the University Vienna. After positions at ZAMG and BOKU he became Professor and Head of Meteorology at TU Dresden. He served as Dean of Studies and introduced the international study course in Hydro Science and Engineering. He conducted various large projects in the field of regional climate, climate change and climate change adaptation as well as land and atmosphere interaction. His expertise covers hydro-meteorology, water and carbon budgets, influence of landscape heterogeneity on surface fluxes, and the methodology of surface flux measurements.

Pablo is a technical adviser of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in climate change adaptation projects in Brazil. He holds a PhD in Natural Sciences with emphasis on the development of climate change scenarios for hydrological studies by the Technische Universitaet Dresden, Germany. Pablo has experience in Climatology, Hydrology, Climatic Extremes and Integrated Water Resources Management. Currently he has been dedicated to the field of Climate Services with emphasis on climate risk assessments for infrastructures, water resources and ecosystems.

Klaus BUTTERBACH-BAHL
University of Aarhus (AU), Denmark and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany
A biogeochemist by training, Klaus is the Research Director of the Danish Pioneer Center Land-CRAFT (Center for Landscape Research in Sustainable Agricultural Futures) and Professor of Landscape BioGeoChemistry at Aarhus University. His work focuses on the assessment of the environmental footprint of food production systems, specifically with regard to GHG fluxes and regional to global perturbations of the nitrogen cycle. His recent work deals with impacts of global environmental changes on biosphere-atmosphere-hydrosphere exchange processes and opportunities for adaptation of food systems to climate change while mitigating emissions of GHGs.

Sergey CHALOV
Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia
Dr. Sergey R. Chalov received his M.S. and Ph.D in Fluvial Processes and Hydrology from Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSU) in 2004 and 2007, respectively. After received his Ph.D., he works at the Hydrology Department of Faculty of Geography, since 2018 as a Associate professor. His research interests are focused on Hydrology, Sediment quality and quantity, Remote sensing applications for sediment transport, Fluvial processes, Stream ecology and biodiversity.

Andreas CHRISTEN
University of  Freiburg, Germany
Andreas Christen is Professor at the University of Freiburg (Germany) and heads the chair of Environmental Meteorology in the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources. He has a Doctorate from University of Basel and had previous academic appointments at the Technical University of Berlin (Germany), the University of British Columbia (Canada), and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland). His research is on the coupling between land surfaces and the atmosphere in the climate system, with emphasis on the near-surface wind field and turbulence, the exchange of trace gases and specifically on urban climate feedbacks.

A.P. DIMRI

Prof A. P. Dimri is working on climate-weather processes over the Indian subcontinent with special emphasis on Two Rains: Indian winter and summer monsoon. His has worked on interaction of the Himalayas with western disturbances and its manifestation on precipitation forming processes. In this, modeling frameworks with special usages of RCMs are used to define science of climate and its change.

Helena FLOCAS

Dr. Helena Flocas is Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Physics/Section of Environmental Physics-Meteorology. She has BSc in Physics (University of Thessaloniki), MSc in Meteorology (University of Reading), and Ph.D. in Meteorology and Climatology (University of Thessaloniki). Her expertise: dynamic and synoptic meteorology, dynamic and applied climatology, climate changes with focus on Mediterranean.

Zuntao FU

Zuntao Fu is on faculty of the Dept. of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences of Peking University. He received his PhD and BS degrees from the Peking University. Zuntao Fu has broad research interests including Climate variability and change, Climate extremes, Nonlinear atmospheric dynamics and predictability, Machine learning and causality. 

Solomon Hailu GEBRECHORKOS

Dr. Solomon Gebrechorkos is a research fellow within Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton, UK. Solomon Gebrechorkos has a research background in hydro-climatology and integrated management of Environmental resources and has experience in local to global scale hydrological modelling, hydro-climate extremes such as droughts and floods, downscaling of global climate models, climate variability and change, seasonal forecast, high-resolution climate projections, Water-Soil-Waste and Water-Food-Energy Nexus, and climate change impact assessment.

Andrea N. HAHMANN

Dr. Andrea N Hahmann is a senior scientist in the Resource Assessment and Meteorology section of the Wind and Energy Systems Department (DTU Wind). She has worked with atmospheric models for over 30 years. Before coming to the wind energy field, she worked on climate and regional modeling and land surface processes. Her current areas of expertise are atmospheric modeling applied to wind energy resource assessment and the effect of climate change on renewable energy resources. She was a lead author in the IPCC AR6 GWIII report on Mitigation of Climate Change.

Yongyun HU
Peking University, Beijing, China
Yongyun Hu is on faculty of the Dept. of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences of Peking University. He received his PhD, MS, and BS degrees from the University of Chicago, Texas A&M University, and Sun Yat-sen University, respectively. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Washington and Columbia University and NASA/GISS before joining the faculty of Peking University. Yongyun Hu has broad research interests, including present climate, deep-time climate, and planetary climate.

Dongkyun KIM

Dongkyun Kim received his BS degree at Hanyang University, Korea (2001), MS degree at Stanford University, USA (2003), and PhD degree at Texas A&M University, USA (2009), all in Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE). After working as an engineer and software developer at Dewberry (2009-2012), Dr. Kim joined the Department of CEE in Hongik University as a faculty member since 2012. Expertise: stochastic modeling and remote sensing of environmental variables, climate change impact analysis.

Jianping LI

Jianping Li, PhD, a full professor at Ocean University of China and Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, Chair of the IUGG Union Commission on Climatic and Environmental Change (CCEC), President of the International Commission of Climate (ICCL)/IAMAS, Fellow of IUGG (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics), Fellow of Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS), an Affiliate Faculty of University of Hawaii, and Co-Coordinator of the International Project of East Asian Climate (EAC). Major research interests include climate dynamics and predictability, monsoon, air-sea interaction, annular modes, and etc.

Huizhi LIU

Dr. Liu Huizhi is a professor of Institute of Atmospheric physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. His main research focuses on atmospheric boundary layer meteorology. He investigated the water vapor and carbon dioxide fluxes over different ecosystems, such as urban, lake, grassland and wetland surfaces in china during recent 10 years , and model the local circulation (WRF model ) over complex terrain and its effect on the mass exchange process over the atmosphere and land surface. Other research interests include the urban wind environment and urban micro-climate. His research topics include micrometeorology, atmospheric boundary layer physics, and atmospheric environment.

Panagiotis T. NASTOS

Professor Dr. Panagiotis Nastos (PN) is the Director of the Laboratory of Climatology and Atmospheric Environment, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (http://lacae.geol.uoa.gr). PN is the President of the Hellenic Meteorological Society since 2010, member of the Coordination Committee of the Center of Excellence “Natural Disaster Management” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and member of the International Scientific Committee of the UNESCO Chair on Conservation and Ecotourism of Riparian and Deltaic Ecosystems “Con-E-Ect”, since 2019. PN has twenty years of research experience in Climate Change and Variability, Human Biometeorology, Urban Environment and Human Health, Extreme Weather and Climate, Impacts of Ambient Air Pollution.

He currently works as a faculty member for CRI. His research interests include the applications of Mathematical modeling and Mathematical programming in Climatology. Levent ŞAYLAN

Prof. Dr. L. Şaylan's research areas are; energy and gas exchange between the biosphere and the atmosphere, and the possible effects of climate change. He still continues his research studies especially in the field of climate change and agriculture interaction in Turkey. He has particularly focused on applied micrometeorology (Greenhouse gas (CO2) and energy exchanges), evapotranspiration, drought and crop growth simulation models. He especially prefers to conduct applied research studies based on field measurements. Having knowledge of both agriculture and meteorology allows him to analyze the relationships between the biosphere and the atmosphere from different perspectives.

Tibor Y. STIGTER

Tibor Stigter is Associate Professor of Hydrogeology and Groundwater Resources at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (UNESCO Category 2) in The Netherlands. His main areas of expertise are: i) groundwater resources assessment and development in adaptation to climate and global change, and ii) the hydrochemical and geophysical study of groundwater-surface water-wetland interactions and impacts from contamination and salinization.

Dr. Jianqi Sun is professor and Director of Nansen-Zhu International Research Centre, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. He received his B.S. in Meteorology (2001) at Lanzhou University and Ph.D. in Meteorology (2006) at Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include climate variability and dynamics, climate prediction and downscaling method, climate extremes, monsoon variability, with focus on East Asia. He also works on teleconnection patterns and their impact, air-sea interaction, sea ice and high-latitude climate.
