Surgeon at prestigious Italian Institutions such as Policlinico Abano (General, Oncological and Robotic Surgery - Director Prof. Huscher Cristiano Germano Sigismondo – Scientific Director Prof. Ancona Ermanno - Abano Terme, Padua, 2018-2019), Agostino Gemelli IRCCS University Hospital Foundation (Endocrine Surgery - Director Prof. Lombardi Celestino Pio - Rome, 2019-2021), Galeazzi Sant’Ambrogio Teaching Hospital and Research Institute and San Donato Teaching Hospital and Research Institute (Milan, 2021-2023).
He has recently moved to Iglesias CTO Hospital in Sardinia.

He is heavily involved in Education and Training as Lead of the Digital Content Working Group and Member of the Committee of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI), as well as Lead of the Task Force for Education in LMICs and Member of the Education Task Force of the European Hernia Society.

Additionally, he is an AIS Ambassador for the AIS Channel, the largest surgical education platform with over 1.2 million users worldwide.

He had the tremendous privilege of participating in the Operation Hernia mission (Nalerigu, Ghana, 2017), and to be challenged by operating on longstanding hernias in intense unfamiliar conditions while respecting cultural boundaries and teaching hernia surgery to local healthcare staff.

He is a reviewer, author, and editorial board member of various international peer-reviewed journals.

Vice Coordinator and Member of the Executive Board of Open Source Research Collaboration.

Member of the Hernia Core Team of the Upper Gastointestinal Surgeons Society (TUGSS).

Member of the Wound Closure Project of the European Society of ColoProctology (ESCP)

His primary professional and scientific interests focus on Minimally Invasive Surgery, Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery, Visceral Surgery.

He is also interested in Digital Surgery and the application of new technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality in Surgery and Surgical Education.

His current position is Professor at Sapienza University of Rome in the following courses: Geriatrics (Medicine and Surgery, 6th year), Internal medicine and Geriatrics (Physiotherapy, 2nd year), Internal Medicine (Podiatry, 2nd year), Geriatrics (Occupational Therapy, 2nd year), Specialization in Internal Medicine, Specialization in Geriatrics.

He is Specialty Doctor in the Internal Medicine Unit of the S. Andrea Hospital of Rome, with inpatient and outpatient activities in internal medicine and geriatrics.

He is member of the following Societies: New York Academy of Science, Italian Society of Internal Medicine, Italian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, Italian Society of Ultrasonology and Biology (SIUMB).

He is author and co-author of 104 original articles and 90 abstracts (as of 3 Apr 2024).
