Journal of Building Pathology and Rehabilitation - Meet the Editors-in-Chief


New Content ItemJoão Quesado Delgado graduated in Chemical Engineering (FEUP, 1995) and completed a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering (FEUP, 2002). He is Auxiliary Researcher since 2021, at CONSTRUCT research unit, FEUP. Since 2009 he is co-chairman of the International Conference of Diffusion in Solids and Liquids (DSL), executive committee member of 1st International Symposium on Building Pathology (ISBP-2015), and he organized other International and National conferences and more than 20 special sessions in International Conferences. He received the award for the supervision of the best PhD thesis of Civil Engineering-FEUP (2012) and since 2009 received regularity the Scientific Recognition Award or Scientific Encouraging Award by FEUP.


New Content ItemEsequiel Mesquita is Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Ceara, Campus Russas, and Head of the Laboratory of Rehabilitation and Buildings Durability (LAREB). Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Building Pathology and Rehabilitation. He is the Regional Director of the Brazilian Concrete Institute (IBRACON), Expert member of ALCONPAT, ICOMOS, and RILEM. He has more than 150 scientific contributions. His research interests include advanced materials, nanotechnology, SHM, building durability, and heritage construction.


New Content ItemCarmen Andrade is a Dr. in Industrial Chemistry. She was a Research Professor at the Institute of Construction Sciences of the CSIC of Spain and devoted her research to concrete durability and reinforcement corrosion. She is currently Research Visiting Professor at the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE). 
Dr. Andrade is Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Trondheim (Norway) and the University of Alicante (Spain) and was Titular Prof. 2021 of the Chair “Construindo a Amanha” of University of San Paulo, Brasil. She is the author of numerous papers, edited several books, and has supervised around 33 PhD theses. She has received several awards: R. N. Whitney Prize 2013 by NACE, Robert L’Hermite Medal from RILEM and “Paul McIntyre” from the Institute of Corrosion of UK. She is Rilem Fellow and Honorary member of Rilem and Fellow of fib. Her specialty is “corrosion of reinforcement and concrete durability”. She has been President of several international organizations (UEAtc, RILEM, WFTAO, and Liaison Committee, which brings together associations: CIB, FIB, IABSE, IASS, RILEM and ECCE). In 2017-2021 she served as President of Alconpat International: the Latimo-American organization for Rehabilitation and Assessment of Structures of which she now is Honorary President. She is also Vice-president of the Spanish Association for the Advance of Sciences (AEAC).
