Journal of Ocean Engineering and Marine Energy - Upcoming & Ongoing Special Issues

Special Issue on Offshore Geotechnical Engineering

Over the few decades, offshore geotechnical engineering has gained increasing importance due to the rapid and substantial exploitation of natural source from ocean, including oil, gas, and wind energy. However, the intricate marine soil stratigraphy and extreme/long-term load from wind, wave and current have led to accidents such as spudcan penetration, pile running and platform sinking, necessitating a deeper understanding in this important domain. The aim of this special issue is to solicit high-quality papers that contribute to cur-rent practice, offer new insights and present innovative solutions to the challenges associated with offshore geotechnical engineering. We welcome research paper of a theoretical, experimental, and numerical nature, as well as illuminating case studies and cutting-edge technologies. Topics to be covered in this special issue may include but not are limited to constitutive modeling of marine geo-materials, offshore site characterization, offshore foundation, and offshore geohazards. Such contribution will significantly enhance our collective knowledge of offshore geotechnical engineering.

The manuscripts must be prepared strictly following the guidelines of the journal; otherwise, they will be rejected. Please check the instructions to authors (this opens in a new tab) and the guidelines (this opens in a new tab) for submission.
