Applied Health Economics and Health Policy - Call for Papers: Health Economics of Genomic Technologies

Applied Health Economics and Health Policy invites the submission of papers on the health economics of genomic technologies for publication in a themed issue of the journal guest edited by James Buchanan (Queen Mary University of London), Deirdre Weymann (BC Cancer) and Ilias Goranitis (University of Melbourne).

Papers can be either methodological or applied, including original research, reviews, opinion and tutorials focused on the assessment of genomic technologies using the following health economic methods:

  • Economic evaluation
  • Preference research 
  • Health technology assessment


Some areas of particular interest for the themed issue include:

  • Health economic studies in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)
  • Ethical considerations
  • Quantifying non-health benefits within standard HTA processes
  • Life-cycle economic evaluations


Please submit an abstract describing your proposed paper by 31 December 2023 to the Editor-in-Chief timothy.wrightson@springer.com (this opens in a new tab). Full papers will be invited by 31 January 2024 with manuscripts due by 31 May 2024.
