Aims and scope

The American Journal of Clinical Dermatology promotes evidence-based therapy and effective patient management within the discipline of dermatology by publishing critical and comprehensive review articles and clinically focussed original research articles covering all aspects of the management of dermatological conditions.

The Journal includes:

  • Definitive reviews relating to the management of dermatological conditions.
  • Evidence-based systematic review articles providing a critical appraisal of the available published literature on a specific disease or therapeutic question.
  • Leading/Current Opinion articles providing an overview of contentious or emerging areas and key regulatory and ethical issues.
  • Therapy in Practice reviews covering optimum management of specific conditions.
  • Original research articles of clinical importance.
  • Adis Drug Evaluations reviewing the properties and place in therapy of drugs in dermatology.

Additional digital features (including animated abstracts, video abstracts, slide decks, audio slides, instructional videos, infographics, podcasts and animations) can be published with articles; these are designed to increase the visibility, readership and educational value of the journal’s content. In addition, articles published in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology may be accompanied by plain language summaries to assist readers who have some knowledge of, but not in-depth expertise in, the area to understand important medical advances.

All manuscripts are subject to peer review by international experts. Letters to the Editor are welcomed and will be considered for publication.
