Centennial Celebration and Congress of the International Union of Soil Sciences
Biology and Fertility of Soils Award to Best Poster

The Award: The best poster presented by a young scientist in sessions whose scientific area is covered by the journal.

The Prize: The winner will receive free online access to the journal for 12 months and a book of choice worth EUR 150,00 on the Springer.com platform.

A young scientist is 35 years old or younger scientist presenting the poster as a junior author at the Centennial Celebration and Congress of the International Union of Soil Sciences.

The topics participating are:

129617 Soil Health from multiple perspectives

129627 Plant-soil-microbe interactions in the rhizosphere and their potential to address global agricultural changes

131303 Soil organic matter transformation, stabilization, and storage

133548 Microbiome as a common thread from soil to human health. Interaction, impact and role of soil-plant-human microbiome as a new challenge of innovative agriculture and quality food

133729 Nitrogen use efficiency as influenced by the microbiome

131145 Dynamics and functions of soil organic matter under new traditional amendments

131649 The centrality of organic carbon in balancing the multifunctional nature of soils for sustaining human and planetary health

The Chairmen of each of the above mentioned sessions will nominate the best poster of the specific session presented by a young scientist. Then a 4 members committee nominated by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal and the Organiser of Congress will choose the best poster among  the overall nominations

Judging criteria
1) Content (relevant, original, up to date, etc.)
2) Experimental plan and techniques (controls, replicates, the accuracy of the used techniques, etc.)
3) Presentation (design, clarity, etc.)

The weighting of criteria:
1) 50%
2) 25%
