Journal of Classification - Call for papers: Special issue for IFCS 2022

The Journal of Classification invites submissions to the special issue for IFCS 2022: Classification and Data Science in the Digital Age. This special issue is dedicated to advancements in the field of classification presented at the 17th conference of the International Federation of Classification Societies, taking place 19-23 July 2022 in Porto, Portugal. This includes original work in the areas of supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised classification. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, information-theoretic statistical modelling and model selection, machine learning, approaches for handling missing data, model-based clustering, hidden Markov models, networks and graphical models, modelling high-dimensional and complex data, optimization in classification and clustering, pattern recognition, statistical learning, and data mining. The special issue also welcomes contributions from a wide range of disciplines including, but not limited to, statistics, computer science, psychology, archeology, biology, business, economics, finance, engineering, linguistics, marketing, and medicine.

The special issue welcomes new methodological developments and up-to-date reviews of the state-of-the-art classification tools with interesting applications. All submissions must contain original unpublished work not being considered for publication elsewhere and must follow the submission guidelines given on the journal’s homepage: https://www.springer.com/journal/357 (this opens in a new tab). Submissions will be refereed according to the standard procedures for the Journal of Classification.
