New Generation Computing - Call for Papers on "Card-based Cryptography"

A special issue of New Generation Computing solicits papers on the theme of Card-based Cryptography.

The first and second special issues on "Card-based Cryptography" were published in Volume 39, Issue 1, April 2021 (this opens in a new tab) and in Volume 40, Issue 1, April 2022 (this opens in a new tab).

Paper Submission Deadline: December 1st, 2023

Paper Submission Format: Refer to the journal home page. (this opens in a new tab)

Please select “Yes” for the question “Does this manuscript belong to a special issue?” and then select the special issue “S.I. : Card-based Cryptography 2024” in the submission system (this opens in a new tab) .

Scope of This Issue

The purpose of this special issue is to present recent research results on card-based cryptography; card-based protocols enable us to perform cryptographic tasks such as secure multiparty computations using a deck of physical cards. The scope also includes cryptography with everyday objects other than a deck of cards. The call is open to all. A substantially extended version of a conference paper is welcome (as long as the copyright holder grants permission). Previously, special issues dedicated to the same topic were successfully published in Volume 39, Issue 1, April 2021 (this opens in a new tab) and Volume 40, Issue 1, April 2022 (this opens in a new tab), and hence this special issue will be the third one.

We therefore solicit papers on diverse aspects of card-based cryptography as well as cryptography with other everyday objects, such as:

  • Design and analysis of card-based protocols
  • Models of card-based computations
  • Card-based computational complexity
  • Applications of card-based cryptography to education
  • Cryptography with other everyday objects
  • Real-life hands-on cryptography / Recreational cryptography
