Search for a New Editor of Skeletal Radiology

To Members of the International Skeletal Society:

My tenure as Editor-in-Chief of Skeletal Radiology will end on 31 December 2024. Several years ago, it was decided that it would be more appropriate for the Editors of the Journal to have a specific term limit, which was set at 9-years. This would allow more individuals to be directly involved with the Journal, as well as serve to get periodic infusions of “new blood” in order to keep the Journal fresh and current.

In keeping with the By-Laws of the International Skeletal Society, the Executive Committee has established a search committee for the new editor and has tasked me to chair the committee. I am writing to members of International Skeletal Society to announce that we are now actively starting our search for a new editor.

The editorial structure of the Journal changed a number of years ago and currently, editors serve 9-years: starting as Vice Editor for case reports (3-years), progressing to Vice Editor (3-years), and finally Editor-in-Chief (3-years). There are certain specific tasks for each position as well as other tasks that are shared.

The journal represents an important outlet for the scholarly work of those interested in musculoskeletal diseases. Being an editor of Skeletal Radiology has been an exceptional experience; however, it also requires a significant time commitment.

There are requirements for this position which include ISS membership, minimum of 10 years out of fellowship as well as regular and high quality review activity for Skeletal Radiology and previous publications in Skeletal Radiology. Candidates for this position should have full professional proficiency in the English language and we would like to specifically encourage application of a diverse group of applicants.
