Folia Geobotanica is excited to launch a call for papers on “Belowground plant organs and their functional ecology”. Deadline for submissions is November 30, 2022. Find the full description for the special issue here: www.springer.com/journal/12224/updates/20263072
Folia Geobotanica publishes articles in the fields of vegetation science, plant ecology and plant systematics. Specific research areas of interest are:
Vegetation science and plant ecology
Spatial and temporal community patterns
Population ecology
Ecosystem ecology
Invasion ecology
Conservation ecology
Plant systematics
Systematic and evolutionary botany
Phylogenetic reconstructions
Phylogeography and biogeography
Microevolution
Taxonomic revisions
Apart from original research papers, authors are invited to submit forum papers, opinion papers, review papers and technical reports (see the submission guidelines for details).
Submission Deadline: November 30, 2022 | Expected 2023
Research into, and the understanding of, belowground plant organs lags behind that of leaves, stems, flowers and other usually aboveground parts; therefore, this special issue will be focused on roots, rhizomes, tubers and bulbs, and their functional ecology with contributions from different biomes and covering a broad range of topics.
The Institute of Botany is one of the research institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Research carried out here deals with plants and fungi at organismal, population, community and ecosystem levels. Currently the Institute covers a broad spectrum of botanical disciplines, such as systematics and evolution, population biology and ecology, vegetation science and vegetation mapping, and palaeoecology. The institute also maintains the Průhonice Park with extensive collections of native and introduced plants.
