IUFRO is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists. IUFRO promotes global cooperation in forest-related research and enhances the understanding of the ecological, economic and social aspects of forests and trees. It disseminates scientific knowledge to stakeholders and decision-makers and contributes to forest policy and on-the-ground forest management

IUFRO Unit 3.08.00 “Small-Scale Forestry"
The purpose of Unit 3.08.00 is:
• to exchange information on research problems, ongoing research efforts and research results related to the management of small-scale non-industrial private forest woodlots.
The small-scale forestry group was formed at the IUFRO XVIII World Congress in 1986 as a co-operative effort of the Divisions 3, 4 and 6. The main topics of the contributions presented at the meetings have dealt with economic and policy issues and also technical aspects of small-scale forestry.
