Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering - Call for Papers―Additive and subtractive manufacturing of super alloys: A new approach of Industry 4.0

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to inform that the special issue on “Additive and subtractive manufacturing of super alloys: A new approach of Industry 4.0” for possible consideration in Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering. The original research papers, short communications and state-of-the-art reviews which are within the scope of this special issue will be invited.

Industry 4.0 is a new stage in the industrial revolution, mainly focusing on interconnectivity, automation, machine learning and real-time data. Industry  4.0 (sometimes called smart manufacturing) combines physical production and operations with smart digital technology, machine learning, and Big Data, thereby creating a more comprehensive and better connected company that focuses on manufacturing and supply chain management ecosystem. With this aim, this special issue deals with the additive and subtractive manufacturing of metals, alloys, composites, polymers etc. for biomedical, structural, aerospace and different applications. Sustainable manufacturing, Internet of Things (IOT), metal cutting, precision engineering, analytical modelling and optimization methods in different applications will be covered in this special issue. The main direction of scientific research is to increase the efficiency of face milling operations (this opens in a new tab) by considering tool wear aspects. Mostly focus on studying different parameters: effect of tool (this opens in a new tab) wear and cutting parameters on tool life, cutting forces, roughness of machined (this opens in a new tab) surfaces, physical and mechanical processes in cutting materials.
