Kara Joyner is a social demographer and professor in the Department of Sociology and Demography at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has published research in the American Journal of Public Health, American Sociological Review, Demography, Journal of Marriage and the Family, Population and Development Review, Population Research and Policy Review, Social Forces, and Social Psychology Quarterly. Her current research addresses the formation of interracial friendships and romantic relationships, the effects of structural stigma on the health and well-being of sexual minorities, and the measurement of family formation in surveys.

David F. Warner

David F. Warner is a social demographer and associate professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has published on a wide-range of topics at the intersection of families, aging, the life course, and health. His work has appeared in American Sociological Review,  Social Science and Medicine, Journal of Aging and Health, Medical Care, Criminology, Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, and Population Research and Policy Review.  His current research examines the social and relationship context of health change; the development and consequences of complex multimorbidity; and social connectedness and epilepsy incidence.
