Call for Papers: Machine Learning for Remote/Mobile Multimedia

From Jan 2019, social living has been changed by the rush of COVID-19. Most of the offline work, life, study, even medical treatment previously have been replaced by online activities. The virus brings much damage to the real world; however, it also promotes the vigorous development of the second world (online world).

Multimedia is the most important transmission medium in the online world, therefore, the study of intelligent multimedia processing method has become an urgent problem to be solved because the development of online world brings huge multimedia. A variety of methods have been proposed, and machine learning methods, which require big data to enhance the models’ quality, have obtained the leading role.

Hence, how to provide machine learning solutions for remote/mobile multimedia processing are current urgent requirements. Also, the security and fast computation architecture are valued to be considered for remote/mobile multimedia. Moreover, machine learning for remote/mobile multimedia in various application domains are meaningful to the real world.

In this way, this issue is presented to provide an opportunity for researchers to publish both theoretical and technological studies of emerging theory within machine learning for remote/mobile multimedia, and their novel engineering applications within this domain. Surveys of excellent quality are also welcome.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following scope:

  • Image segmentation for remote/mobile multimedia
  • Image enhancement for remote/mobile multimedia
  • Target recognition for remote/mobile multimedia
  • Content understanding for remote/mobile multimedia
  • Advanced transmission method for remote/mobile multimedia
  • Computational architecture for mobile multimedia processing
