Overview

Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics is a prime resource for papers where combinatorics and algebra significantly intertwine.

  • Provides a single forum for researchers in combinatorics and other disciplines in mathematics and computer science
  • Publishes papers that study combinatorial structures using algebraic methods, or the application of combinatorial methods to algebraic problems.
  • Encourages submissions that involve matroids, posets, polytopes, codes, designs, or finite geometries.
  • Open to papers that utilize group theory, representation theory, lattice theory or commutative algebra, among others.

  • Combinatorics around the q-Onsager algebra

This special issue of the Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics is dedicated to Paul Terwilliger in honor of his 70th birthday and in recognition of his many significant contributions to mathematical research. Professor Terwilliger’s exceptional body of work has touched many areas, including distance-regular graphs, association schemes, Leonard systems, tridiagonal pairs, and the q-Onsager algebra and its relationship to mathematical physics, among others.

This special issue seeks high-quality papers that intersect with areas of Professor Terwilliger’s work, with an emphasis on combinatorics.  Papers on research that will be presented at the Combinatorics around the q-Onsager Algebra Conference held June 23-28, 2025 in Slovenia are especially encouraged. The submissions will be fully refereed according to the standards of the journal.

The guest editors for this special issue are Sarah Bockting-Conrad (DePaul University), John Caughman (Portland State University), Tatsuro Ito (Anhui University), Jack Koolen (University of Science and Technology of China), Luc Vinet (University of Montreal) and Pascal Baseilhac (Institut Denis-Poisson CNRS/UMR 7013 - Universit ́e de Tours - Universite d’Orleans Parc de Grammont).

  • CALL FOR PAPERS: Vyjayanthi Chari's 65th Birthday – Submission Deadline: December 31, 2024

Special Issue of the Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics in Honor of the 65th Birthday of Professor Vyjayanthi Chari

    New Content Item

    Overview

This special issue of the Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics is dedicated to Professor Vyjayanthi Chari in recognition of her research contributions as well as her extensive service to the mathematical community. Professor Chari's work has had a tremendous influence on the research in representation theory and related fields. The special issue is intended to be a collection of papers reflecting the intersections of the mathematics of Professor Chari and the areas of interest of the Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics. We are soliciting submissions reporting on current research in the appropriate areas. Authors who are interested to submit a survey article are kindly asked to contact the guest editors in advance. Articles on areas in which progress has been reported at the Conference "Algebraic and Combinatorial Methods in Representation Theory, held during 13-24 November 2023 at ICTS, Bengaluru, India" are most appropriate. All papers will be strictly refereed according to the standards of the Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics.

    List of Possible Topics

Researchers are invited to submit papers broadly related to combinatorial representation theory.
