Professor Christoph Gräni, Editor-in-Chief

"It is an exciting and timely opportunity to envision a journal that is at the center of every cardiovascular patient's care - cardiovascular imaging. It encompasses multiple modalities including echocardiography, CT, MR, nuclear cardiology, and x-ray angiography/intravascular imaging. As Editor-in-Chief, I'm committed to guiding the journal in step with the latest innovative advancements, particularly the transformative role of artificial intelligence in imaging, as well as novel developments in scanners, sequences, post-processing methods, image to printing, fused and virtual imaging and how they can be integrated into clinical routine. Our focus will be patient-centered, with the goal of ultimately enhancing patient management and outcomes of cardiovascular diseases. With my team, I am ensuring the journal remains a pivotal source of knowledge, and I am looking forward to advancing this important field. I am thrilled to work with the publisher, the editorial team, and all the authors and reviewers to enhance visibility and improve access to cardiovascular imaging for all cardiovascular caregivers."

Christoph Gräni is a Cardiologist, Professor at the University of Bern, Switzerland, and serves as the Director of Cardiac Imaging at the Department of Cardiology, University Hospital Bern, working in close interdisciplinary collaboration with the Departments of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Gräni completed his medical degree at the University of Zurich and earned his PhD from Maastricht University. Additionally, he completed an Executive MBA at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. For his clinical and research fellowships in cardiac imaging, he trained at the University Hospital Zurich under Professor Philipp Kaufmann, and at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston in the USA under the mentorship of Raymond Y. Kwong. Dr. Gräni is renowned for his expertise in both clinical practice and research in the field of multimodality cardiac imaging, especially in the realm of cardiomyopathies, amyloidosis, myocarditis, coronary artery anomalies and how noninvasive imaging can help to improve diagnostics and risk stratification.
