GPS Solutions - GNSS Integrity

Guest Editors: Dr. Shaojun Feng  dr.shaojunfeng@yahoo.com (this opens in a new tab)

Significant achievements have been made in GNSS integrity, especially in aviation, but many challenges remain. With increasing demands on more accurate positioning in difficult environments for new critical applications such as autonomous driving, we are facing many new challenges.

This Topical Collection focuses on new theories, methods, and algorithms in GNSS integrity. It covers but is not limited to

  • fundamental issues, including the derivation of Required Navigation Performance (RNP), Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Failure Detection and Exclusion (FDE), functional safety, integrity risk allocation and assessment, validation, and certification.
  • integrity information provision at the service level (e.g., SAIM, SBAS, GBAS, Global and regional correction services), including system design, error modeling, and performance assessment. The special focus will be on integrity for high accuracy correction services such as State Space Representation (SSR) and Observation State Representation (OSR) correction data.
  • integrity monitoring at the user level that includes RAIM for multiple frequency multiple constellation (MFMC). The special focus will be on integrity monitoring for timing and high accuracy positioning such as PPP and NRTK, and integration with other sensors.
  • innovative critical applications requiring integrity, such as autonomous driving, drone operation, and IOT for critical applications.

GPS Solutions covers global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and various augmentations and respective applications. Prime interest is devoted to innovative or highly demanding uses.

GPS Solutions employs the “Continuous Article Publishing” publication model, where accepted articles are immediately published in an issue when ready.
