In this special issue, we unravel the cutting-edge intersections of FoodTech and food science, exploring transformative innovations redefining production, distribution, and consumption paradigms. We strongly encourage you to explore the journey through the forefront of the food industry with our special issue, focused on precision nutrition, AI-based food technology, upcycling of food waste, innovative food distribution and the burgeoning realm of alternative meat.

We are living in the era of emerging food technology that allows us to intricate landscape of precision nutrition, where personalized dietary approaches are reshaping how we view and consume food. The convergence of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence in food technology is explored, and shedding light on how these technologies optimize everything from production processes to consumer experiences. In addition to that, the heart of our exploration focuses on the disruptive rise of alternative meat, in that the technological innovations driving this paradigm shift, from lab-grown meats to plant-based alternatives, and their implications for sustainable food production. Beyond their impact on industry dynamics, we critically examine the social and environmental dimensions of these alternatives. Concurrently, our focus extends to food waste upcycling technologies, championing resource recovery and circular economy principles. Expanding the depth of our discussions promote disruptive models in food distribution leverage blockchain-enhanced traceability and direct-to-consumer digital platforms, fostering transparency and consumer engagement.
