Dear readers of the Journal,

We have been sadly notified that Professor Allen J. Bard of the University of Texas at Austin passed away on February 11.

Professor Bard was a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal since its inception and was one of the prominent and most influential electrochemists of our time. He has gained a reputation for his vast and impacted contribution to many research fields across electrochemistry. Such fields include and are not limited to semiconductors electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry, electrochemistry kinetics and the utilization of scanning electrochemical microcopy. He has published numerous books and articles, shining in his legacy. Prof. Bard has established many academic followers and scholars among the next generation who had caught with the affection and passion to electrochemistry.

The electrochemistry community will dearly miss him.
