Springer Open Choice for Polish Institutions
The ICM University of Warsaw, acting on behalf of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Springer reached an agreement in which the open access fees are covered for authors at Polish institutions from May 2010 onwards.
Faculty and students affiliated with an academic, educational or scientific research institute in Poland are now encouraged to make use of Springer’s Open Choice option. Open Choice makes it possible to publish scientific articles with open access in Springer’s established journals.

Publishing open access means making articles freely available to everyone, everywhere – after the articles have gone through a rigorous peer-review process. If authors publish open access in Springer's Open Choice journals, they will not be required to transfer their copyright and publish their work under a Creative Commons license. The final published version of all articles can be archived in institutional or funder repositories and can be made publicly accessible immediately. Further, Springer deposits the article’s full-text XML at PubMed Central simultaneously with its publication.
