About the author

Xianhu Wei, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Devoted to research on remote sensing surveys, monitoring and evaluation of land resources and the environment, as well as spatial and temporal variation of land surface water and regional responses to global changes, he is the Leading Researcher at two institutions for talent cultivation and scientific research, i.e., the China–Sri Lanka Joint Research and Demonstration Center for Water Technology and the Sino–Africa Joint Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has participated in more than 20 research projects and hosted more than 10 others, including national and provincial key projects. He has published more than 30 papers and two books, and copyrighted one computer software program.
