About the editors

Dr. Muthukumar Palanisamy is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India. He received PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras during 2005. He received DAAD research fellowships during September – December 2000, June-July 2008, and June - July 2010. He is the recipient of IEI Young Engineer Award - 2010 in Mechanical Engineering from Institute of Engineers (India). He received Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy Fellowship (BASE Fellowship) from Indo - U.S. Science and Technology Forum (USIEF), Jan 2014 and also received Er. M. P. Baya National Award 2015 by the Institution of Engineers (India), Udaipur.  He is also the Fellow of Institute of Engineers (India). He is one of the Commission Member to represent India in the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). He also received Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship from (USIEF). He also served as the President, Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), Guwahati sub-chapter.  He also received “Mechanical Engineering Design Award 2017, from National Design & Research Forum (NDRF) in Dec 2017. During 2019, he was honored as Eminent Engineer -2019 from “The Institution of Engineers (India)”, Assam State Centre. He served as visiting Professor in many Universities in USA and Germany and also having research collaborations with over 20 International Universities.   He has published over 250 research articles in various International Journals and conference proceedings. He is having seven national patents for his credit.  He has supervised 17 PhD and 52 M.Tech student’s theses. He has successfully completed 12 research projects. Currently he is handling seven research projects worth of 760 lakhs. His area of research includes hydrogen energy storage, metal hydride based thermal machines, coupled heat and mass transfer in porous medium, porous medium combustion, sorption heating and cooling systems, etc.

Dr. Sendhil Kumar Natarajan is working as an Assistant Professor and Head in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Puducherry. He did B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech., in Energy Technology in Pondicherry Engineering College in the year of 2001 and 2003. He obtained his Ph.D in area of solar energy from IIT Madras in the year of 2008. After his Ph.D., he joined as Senior R&D Engineer, at CSEM-UAE, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Later, he joined as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom under European Union Project. He got young faculty award and outstanding researcher award in the field of Solar Thermal. He has published 35 International Journals and 45 National and International conferences in the area of energy. Two of his research publication, cited as hottest article in the science direct. Apart from this, four of his International journal about receivers got more than 100 citations and the total citations of 1002 nos. Based on his research works, three Indian patents were granted in the area of solar energy. He has three funded projects in SERB, UKERI and BRICS. His research area is Solar Thermal system and CSP system, CPV, Integration of high temperature solar thermal systems, Heat transfer and fluid flow and Fuel cells.

Dr. Simon Jayaraj is currently a Senior Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Calicut, India. He obtained his master’s and Ph.D degrees from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India respectively. He has guided 17 Ph.D and more than 60 M.Tech projects respectively. He was a Visiting Professor in Visiting Professor, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, October 2011 and May 2014. Dr. S Jayaraj has authored and co-authored more than 120 research articles published in peer reviewed International Journals and reputed International Conferences. Dr. S Jayaraj contributions have acclaimed recognition from honorable subject experts around the world. Dr. S Jayaraj is actively associated with different societies and academies. Dr. S Jayaraj academic career is decorated with several reputed awards and funding.  Prof. Jayaraj’s major research areas are heat transfer, CFD, energy and combustion.

Dr. Murugan Sivalingam is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. He obtained his master and PhD degree from Anna University, Chennai. His areas of research are in energy/renewable energy, waste management, refrigeration and air conditioning. He has twenty eight years of teaching and one year industrial experience. He was also a visiting researcher at Cranfield University, the UK. He has carried out his postdoctoral research work at VSB Technical University, Ostrava, The Czech Republic, in 2014-15. He was a Principal Investigator for two major sponsored research projects sponsored by the Government of India, and a sponsored research project funded by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu, India. He has published more than 75 research articles in reputed peer-reviewed international journals scoring his h-index 30 in google scholar citations. He has guided 8 PhD research scholars and 25 postgraduate and more than 50 undergraduate engineering students.
