Das Management von Anpassungsprozessen ist ein wesentlicher Erfolgsfaktor unternehmerischen Handelns. Entscheidend bei der Planung und Umsetzung von Anpassungsprozessen ist die Balance zwischen Flexibilisierungs- und Stabilisierungserfordernissen. Sabine Wilfling entwickelt zur Unterstützung des Transformationsmanagements ein Informationsmodell, das am Design-Science-Prozess der Wirtschaftsinformatik orientiert ist. Es integriert Wissen aus der Betriebswirtschafts- und Organisationslehre sowie des Transformations- und Flexibilitätsmanagements. Die praktische Anwendbarkeit des Modells wird anhand von sechs Fallstudien untersucht.
