Applied Water Science indexed in ESCI of Thomson Reuters' Web of Science

In July 2015, Thomson Reuters has decided to add Applied Water Science to the newly created Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) in the Web of Science (WoS).
The new database provides publishers an additional level of inclusion in WoS. A journal in ESCI is searchable, discoverable, and citable; publishers get real-time insight into a journal’s citation performance while the content is considered for inclusion in other WoS collections.
This ESCI will co-exist with the Core Collection File in the WoS. The journals in the ESCI will be indexed the same way as the journals in the Core Collection. Journals selected for ESCI will not get an Impact Factor.
Applied Water Science has been selected for ESCI but will remain under evaluation for the Core Collection to get an Impact Factor. The journal will be listed in the Master Journal List on the Thomson Reuters Website sometime in October 2015. The ESCI database will go live in November 2015.
