Every Review Counts!

As part of a reviewer reward scheme Springer supports the non-profit humanitarian organisation 'Filter of Hope'

For every peer review completed in 2017, Springer is making a donation - on behalf of the valued peer reviewers of this journal - to a charity project that the Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Earth Sciences has chosen. For each review we are donating one household water filter that removes microorganisms, protozoa, bacteria and cysts from contaminated water.

Continuous Article Publishing

Beginning with Volume 75 (2016), the journal Environmental Earth Sciences commenced using the “Continuous Article Publishing” publication model.
All accepted articles are immediately published in an issue, and Springer’s “Online First” model, which uses the online publication of unpaginated articles, has become obsolete.
Instead of consecutive pagination of articles throughout a volume, each article has an internal pagination beginning with page 1. In addition, every article has an Article Citation ID number. This unique article identifier will be visible on every page of an article and will replace the page numbers in the citation line.
Example:
Old: Environmental Earth Sciences (2015) 74: 6451-6458
New: Environmental Earth Sciences (2016) 75: 12 (The last number is the Article Citation ID)
As a result, all articles have their full and final citation information available as soon as the production process is complete. This change does not affect the production time from acceptance to online publication of an article, but since the articles are be published online immediately in their final form, the overall publication time for articles has become shorter.
Environmental Earth Sciences’ authors have benefited from this change and the new system has also simplified referencing of articles.
