About the editors

Professor Walter Leal Filho [BSc, PhD, DSC, DPhil, DL, DEd, DLit] is a professor at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany and at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He is the founding director of the World Sustainable Development Research and Transfer Centre, a recently created centre aimed at supporting the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He has nearly 30 years of experience on matters related to sustainable development, and has in excess of 300 publications to his credit.

Prof Paul PACE [B.Ed. (Hons.), M.Ed., Ph.D.] is an associate professor in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and science education at the University of Malta. He is the founding director of the Centre for Environmental Education & Research. He served as chairperson of Malta’s National Strategy for Education for Sustainable Development; national co-ordinator for the Eco-Schools programme and the GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) Programme; and vice-chairperson of the Interdiocesan Commission for the Environment of the Maltese Archdiocese.

Dr. Mark Mifsud [B.Ed (Hons.), M.Sc., PhD, MiBiol, MIEEM, MiEnvSc, CBiol, CEnv, CSci, AMPS, ARPS] is a senior lecturer at the Centre for Environmental Education and Research at the University of Malta. He was previously co-ordinator of policy to the Minister of the Environment and Rural Affairs, and has international working experience in three continents. Mark has published in excess of 40 publications.
