A Brief Introduction to BioMed Central 

BioMed Central, part of Springer Science+Business Media, is an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher which has pioneered the open access publishing model. All original research articles published by BioMed Central are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. BioMed Central now has over 260 open access journals, over half of which being indexed by SCI.
Currently, we are looking for a Author Service Executive to expand our business and activities in China.

Reporting Line 

Report to Business Development Manager China, dotted line to Head of Customer Service based in London

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Handle all sorts of queries from/related to China, which can be from authors, editors, universities/organizations and other interested parties.
• Facilitate communication with customers and solve problems in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the global Customer Service team to ensure smooth workflow.
• Provide sales support for the China team
• Other customer service and administrative duties

Key Competencies: 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English (essential)
• Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work under pressure
• Proven attention to detail
• Excellent skills of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and react quickly to changing priorities
• Ability to work on task independently
• Strong interest in STM publishing and open access publishing
• Service mentality

Required Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor degree or above
• Minimum 2 years' work experience in customer service or administrative support, previous work experience in STM publishing or digital publishing preferred
