A significant amount of new information concerning epidemiology, medical and surgical therapy for patients with incontinence has appeared over the past five years. Importantly, with recently introduced minimally invasive technologies and recent development in the medical management, the treatment of incontinence has changed significantly.

This book covers the complete field of uncomplicated incontinence ranging from the current concepts, surgical management to medical management, with a special focus on the latest diagnostic tests, surgery including laparoscopy and medical therapies. Moreover, special topics are included such as prolapse, male incontinence, economic aspects, and costs and education.

The book is THE state-of-the-art reference work on continence management for all urologists as well as gynecologists.

From the reviews:

"Well known international experts on urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse provide an in-depth review of the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and newer techniques for the treatment of this condition. … The book is designed for anyone treating urinary incontinence, and specifically urologists and urogynecologists. … I commend the authors for taking on the heroic task of providing a comprehensive book on the ever-changing field of urinary incontinence. … This is a valuable resource for anyone treating patients with urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse." (Akhil Das, Doody’s Review Service, March, 2009)

"The expertise and the range or diversity of the authors involved in urology, gynecology, pharmacology and operative techniques make this book very comprehensive.
