Editor profile

Alessandro Piccolo is Professor of Agricultural Chemistry and Director of the Research Centre for NMR in Environment, Agro-food and New Materials at the Università di Napoli Federico II. He received his degrees in Physical Organic Chemistry from the Università di Roma “La Sapienza”, and in Agronomy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Life Sciences of Prague, Czech Republic (2009). Prof. Piccolo is a recipient of the “Humboldt Prize” in Chemistry from the “Alexander von Humboldt” Foundation, Bonn, Germany (1999) and of the “Gambrinus Prize” for Environmental Chemistry (2004) from the University of Dortmund. He is Honorary Professor at the Agricultural University of Prague (1995), and at the Agricultural University of Nanjing (2012). In addition, Alessandro Piccolo is the editor of two books and author of numerous chapters in scientific books, of more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers, and is ranked among the Top Italian Scientists.
